A community group from Clydebank have come together to create a special cookbook that looks at tackling food waste. The ISARO Social Integration Network have taken inspiration from all across the globe to produce The Melting Pot Cookbook, featuring affordable, straightforward cross-cultural recipes that bring new flavours to the dinner table.

ISARO’s Climate Challenge Initiative brings communities together to learn more about climate change issues, how lifestyle contributes to it, the changes that can be adopted to reduce Scotland’s carbon footprint and protect the planet and we’re delighted to be working alongside them in the fight against food waste.

As well as being packed with tasty recipes, the cookbook has handy hints and tips for tackling food waste and with dishes from Africa, India, and Syria, you’re bound to discover something delicious that you haven’t tried before.

To launch The Melting Pot Cookbook, the group got together for a lovely lunch and tried some of each others recipes! The Goulash, a hearty stew full of meat and mixed veg, was a hit as were the Aloo Tikki fritters, made with leftover potatoes.
